About Jay Ladder

My name is Alessio, but most people know me as Jay Ladder. I am a music producer, DJ and content creator, and I am fully blind.

I was born in 2008 with a rare form of glaucoma, which caused me to lose my sight gradually. Even though this has been a big part of my life, I have never wanted it to define everything about me.

Music has always been one of the things that helped me the most. It has been a friend, a companion and a place where I could feel understood. For me, music is a way to express emotions, tell stories, share feelings and connect people together.

I have been DJing professionally since 2022, while continuing to produce and release music as Jay Ladder. I like exploring different sounds and bringing different influences into what I create. I do not want to stay in one box.

As a blind producer and DJ, I have had to face accessibility barriers with music software, performance setups and creative tools. I keep learning, adapting and finding ways to make things work.

Sometimes words are not enough, but a melody, a rhythm or a drop can say what is difficult to explain.
